Genetics of Biological Clocks

Research interests:

Research at the Tauber lab is aimed is aimed at identifying molecular adaptations in genes that drive biological clocks, and how these adaptations allow the circadian circadian clock to operate at different environments. We are also interested in the genetic basis of seasonal timing and photoperiodism.

Research organisms:

Drosophila melanogaster.

Expertise:

Our research employs a broad range of approaches, from Next Generation Sequencing, Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) mapping and RNAseq gene expression profiling to molecular cloning, transgenics, confocal microscopy and high-throughput behavioral analysis.
