Research interests:
We aim at exploring the interface between evolution, development and physiology using both the comparative method and experimental evolution. Specifically, we are working on immune cell function diversity and hematopoiesis in Drosophila, and on the evolution of the immune response in arthropods using Drosophila melanogaster as a reference model.
Research organisms:
Drosophila species, Tetranychus urticae, Ceratitis capitata.
