Research Interests
I am an evolutionary biologist with a strong interest in the evolution of male reproductive traits, particularly ejaculate proteins and testis divergence. My research aims to understand how ecological and evolutionary forces shape the diversity, function, and dynamics of these traits across species. I use an integrative approach that combines experimental evolution and behavioural assays in Drosophila, population and quantitative genetics (also using DrosEU generated data), and comparative genomics.

Research Organisms
My primary model organism is Drosophila melanogaster, but I also work with other Drosophila species, various insects, and primates to explore evolutionary patterns across broader phylogenetic scales.

Expertise

  • Experimental assays of reproductive fitness and mating behaviour
  • RNAi-based knock-down experiments
  • Molecular population genetics and quantitative genetic analyses using animal breeding designs
  • Morphological analyses of male reproductive organs and sperm
