Research questions:
1) How do ectotherms adapt to climate change? What are the changes at the phenotypic and molecular level? 2) How do pest species (i.e. D. suzukii) evolve under warmer climates? Do such changing conditions affect their damaging potential? 3) In general, what are the genomic and transcriptomic changes that underlie life-history variation during adaptation to new environments?
Research organisms: Drosophila subobscura, Drosophila suzukii
Experimental & Bioinformatic expertise: Experimental Evolution, Evolution of quantitative traits (Life-History, Thermal tolerance, Mating Behaviour); Chromosomal Inversions; Genomics and Transcriptomics data analysis (Python and R).
