Research interests:
In the Laboratory of Integrative Biology we are interested in studying the role of the genetic variability and phenotypic plasticity on the adaptation to environmental stress, using several Drosophila species. To address this goal, our toolkit includes the use of quantitative genetic analyses, the experimental evolution of resistance traits, and microbiota manipulation.
Research organisms:
Drosophila melanogaster, Drosophila subobscura, and Drosophila suzukii
Expertise:
We have a long tradition studying physiological traits such as metabolic rate, thermal tolerance and performance. More recently, we have included to our toolkit the bioinformatic and statistical analysis to explore microbiomes.
