Stress Genomics – particularly the role of chromosomal inversions and transposable elements in adaption (to cold environments).
Research organisms:
Drosophila montana and some other Drosophila virilis group species.
Expertise:
Phenotypic assays for cold tolerance and diapause. RNA interference (RNAi), quantitative real time PCR (qPCR), adaptation genomics and transcriptomics.
