Neuropeptides & Neurogenetics – Wegener Lab
Neurobiology and Genetics, Würzburg Insect Research, Biocenter, University of Würzburg

Christian Wegener

Principal Investigator

Research interests:

We aim to understand how the small insect nervous system and the central clock in the brain regulate the activity of peptidergic neurons to adapt physiology and behaviour to the internal and environmental state. A major model in our lab is the circadian timing of eclosion in Drosophila.

Research organisms:

Drosophila melanogaster.

Expertise:

Behavioural assays; Neurogenetics, Neuroanatomical and imaging techniques, peptidomics.
